2015 Family Adventure: From South to North!

‘cause they’re the backbone of my existence; my strong support group. They are the constant reason that makes me nostalgic and melancholic while working my ass heart out and simultaneously daydreaming about traveling and seeing the rest of the world. While I have the means and opportunity to somehow feed my wanderlust, they don’t. And therefore, I made a silent promise to myself that as long as I can afford to, I want them to experience a part of my life—a life that I embraced while I was away from them. I wanted them to see and experience the places which I believe are beautiful and which I believe they would love to see and experience for themselves!

Scotland at Last! …minus the tent and the campsite

“Wait for me, let’s go together to Scotland…let’s pitch a tent, let’s camp…” I’m sure he might have already forgotten about what he said. But yeah, I waited—okay, part of the waiting was really because I didn’t want to go to Scotland alone last year—I think it’s too pretty to be admiring it by myself and it’s a bit of a loser of me to be camping alone!

Mt. Pico de Loro Day Hiking (and some Random Musings)

That moment at the Monolith was all worth the scare and nervousness that I felt while climbing to be on top of it! It was an accomplishment, I believe. And as usual, being on top gave me a sense of fulfillment—that kind of feeling that I can’t explain to my mom everytime she asks me what I get when I travel, especially when I climb the mountains… that I always end up saying “happiness!” (full stop!) :)

Four Seasons of Aloneness: A Birthday Run Away to Norway

One of my fave travel quotes says “I haven’t been EVERYWHERE, but it’s on my list”… So on my birthday, just out of randomness (and weirdness), I ran away alone and went to that “Everywhere”! :D **Ang arte lang!**

Four Seasons of Aloneness: My Batanes-Kind-of-Trip in the UK :)

No, I’m not back in the Philippines yet. And no, I’m no way near Batanes. :)

This trip was supposed to be “aimless”… One weekend, I was just thinking of train-station-hopping, random. I just needed an escape! :p But then on second thought, I might end up disappointed and that would mean wasting some bucks. So I hurriedly searched for a daytrip destination—and Seaford it was! :)

The weekend before this trip, I met up with my highschool friends in Manila for a supposed-to-be-farewell-dinner-for-me-but-Fern-ended-up-paying-for-it get-together. Since Fern didn’t make it to our TalamitamBatulao twin hike before, we thought of having another backpack trip somewhere in Luzon, and just then Jillian mentioned about her officemates’ plan to go to Baler. We wanted to explore Baler too, so immediately that night, I came up with a rough itinerary. After sending the itinerary the following day, Jill informed us that we could tag along with her officemates, since that group could still accommodate around 3-4 persons. And so we’re in it! :)
