Being a field auditor gave me the opportunity to do out-of-town fieldwork; and one of the out-of-Manila clients that I’ve had is located in Semirara Island in Caluya, Antique. As mentioned in my previous post about Semirara, the island is the largest source of coal in the Philippines. But I’m not going to talk about my former client’s business as this blog post isn’t part of my Understanding the Business procedure hahaha! I’d just like to share my experience in this island and how this Unong Lake has captured my heart! Chos! :)
Seriously, Unong Lake, formerly Unong Mine Pit, is one the best spots in Semirara. It is located at the southern end of the island which has been rehabilitated after it approached the end of its economic life in 2000. Wait, UBT-mode again! ehehe! :D
Every time I go to this island for my fieldwork, I always take a chance at visiting this lake. Look!
And these lovely sunset shots! ayay! I simply couldn’t let the chances of getting sunset shots pass me by… :D
And these!!! <3
That’s how this place captured my heart. As simple as that! hehehe mababaw ang kaligayahan ko!
The Place—Tranquil… Solemn… and a very good place for sunset-watching! :) Kala ko hanggang dun lang yung kagandahan ng place! In October 2010, dinala kame sa kabilang side ng pit. Yun oh!
Hahayy na-amaze na naman ako sa lugar na ‘to! :D Simple joys again! Ang galing lang! And hindi pa dun natatapos ang view…We were just in time for the sunset nung araw na yun, pero hindi pala dun ang side ng sunset, but it reflected on the lake! Pink! :D
And these were taken after the sunset :)
In 2011, I got back to this place with a different team, and I didn’t notice any change. I still love the place just the same… :) Here are some pix that we got last October 2011:
…and we attempted a jumpshot and a “cliff shot”! ehehe! pumorma lang sa gilid ng cliff! :D
and it ended there.. that was my last visit in Semirara before I resigned in January 2012. :D
